Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- 4 small tortillas (corn or flour)
- 1 cup shredded chicken (cooked)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend)
- 2 tbsp salsa (your choice of red or green)
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- Salt, to taste
- Olive oil spray or cooking spray (for crisping)
Method
- Prepare the Flauta Filling:In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, shredded cheese, salsa, cumin, and salt. Mix well.
- Assemble the Flautas:Place a small amount of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla.Roll the tortillas tightly around the filling, securing the ends. You can lightly fold in the edges as you roll to prevent the filling from spilling out.
- Cook the Flautas:Lightly spray the flautas with olive oil or cooking spray to help them crisp up.Place the rolled flautas in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden on all sides using the Crispy Finish function.
- Serve:Once crispy, remove the flautas from the air fryer and serve with additional salsa, guacamole, or sour cream on the side for dipping.
