  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 300g lamb leg, cubed
  • 100g onion, sliced
  • 150g squash, cubed
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric, dried
  • 1/4 tsp curry powder
  • 1/4 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 bunch of Swiss chards, destemmed & chopped
  • 200g basmati rice
  • 200ml beef stock
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Yogurt garnish, optional
  • Pistachio garnish, optional


1. Insert the stirring paddle. Select the SAUTE function with food type as VEGETABLE. Set the time to 10 minutes and select the STIR function. 2. Add oil, lamb, onions, spices, tomato paste, squash and salt to taste. Close the lid and select the START key. When the timer has 2 minutes remaining; open the lid and add the swiss chard. Close the lid and cook for the remaining time. 3. Once the cooking program has end; remove the Stirring paddle. 4. Add the rice, stock and minced garlic. Select the RICE function and press the STIR function to enable. Close lid and select the START key. Cooking time is automatically set. 5. After 40 minutes into the cooking process, open lid to check for doneness. If necessary, turn off. If the pilaf needs more time, close the lid and let the cooking program finish. 6. Serve hot.
