Safety Information

T-Fal Canada encourages consumers to use its products properly and handle food with care when cooking. If properly maintained, T-FAL’s unique non-stick finish will provide years of great cooking performance and easy cleaning.

Additionally, consumers should take the following precautions when cooking with T-Fal products:

-> Preventing damage to the non-stick finish will help maximize product performance.

-> Use only low to medium heat with T-FAL cookware (including to boil water).

-> High heat may damage your T-FAL non-stick cookware, and this type of damage is not covered under the warranty.

-> Never let cookware boil dry and never leave an empty piece of cookware on a heated burner.

-> Never leave cookware unattended while cooking.

-> Select proper burner size so that the heat touches only the bottom of the cookware and does not climb up the side walls.

-> Do not use T-Fal pans to flambé.

-> Never cut food directly in the pan or gouge the non-stick surface.

-> With use, the non-stick surface may become slightly darker. This will not impair its performance.

-> Slight surface marks or abrasions are normal and will not affect the performance of the non-stick coating.

-> Non-stick cooking sprays are not necessary when using non-stick cookware.

-> Always let pans cool before cleaning to prevent warping caused by extreme temperature shocks.

-> Avoid any extreme temperature changes.

-> Wooden or plastic utensils are recommended for most non-stick surfaces.

-> Some non-stick coatings are safe for use with metal utensils (excluding knives and whisks).

-> Caution: Cooking at temperatures above medium on an electric range can cause emission of fumes from the non-stick interior that could be dangerous for certain animals with very sensitive respiratory systems, such as birds. Birds should never be kept in the kitchen and exposed to fumes from butter, cheese or other foods. More information about animal sensitivities can be found at: /tefal/PFOA/nonStick.asp
