How T-Fal Coatings Work
- T-Fal cookware is made with a safe plastic polymer called polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE). This is the slippery ingredient that creates the non-stick finish.
- PTFE results from a combination of tetrafluoroethylene molecules that contain only carbon and fluorine.
- T-Fal’s PTFE non-stick coating is not attacked by acid or alkali bases and is very stable when heated and used properly.
- T-Fal enamel exterior coating is cadmium and lead free.
- Teflon is a brand name and registered trademark of DuPont and is in no way connected to the T-Fal brand or its products.
- It is inaccurate to describe perflurorooctanoic acid (PFOA) as an ingredient in T-Fal non-stick cookware.
